album of old rigid connected BD (1947) has in this case one of the oldest adventures of the famous hero of Hergé (the tenth) this opus, the only Tintin conceived during the 39/45 war is also the only one with a fantastic character a bit disconnected from the realism of adventures; he has no defects of the oldest creations (racism rightly underlying often been criticized for the author); the characters will be known later as the start to be secured even if Captain Haddock resembles the alcoholic at the beginning is not yet notable grumpy but big heart from the rest of the series; Sunflower does not yet exist but a little crazy astronomer proves that Hergé was researching this kind of character, Thompson and Thomson are curiously absent; unconvincing plot is happening in Europe and in the Arctic and it's hard to believe this story mushrooms; Brief though it is not my favorite Tintin, this edition can be purchased without hesitation to complete a collection if one can find such exemplary low priced new or used in good condition (which unfortunately was not the case this time, this former library book is very worn and patched)
