The 3 gradations from light to dark are clearly distinguishable and beautiful coordinated. It is thus possible to start with the lightest pencil and later rework the two darker tones, so the image gets Depth.
Canceling the pins, which was described by Vorrezensenten may be because that was trying the pins really totally "to pointed pointed". Coal is probably just not suitable for needle-fine lines and you should if you want to draw so maybe better to change to graphite.
I use the tips now the enclosed Spitzer and listen to a few turns before the pins are properly pointed and possibly break off. One can in this kind of spitz used (to me at least it was so) and therefore get along well, I draw anyway realistic portraits with this coal ...
And then there is still the opportunity to work carefully with fine sandpaper the top that it is fine. Then firmly press on not so, and you have thin lines.
Very good to the pins fit the pressed pieces of coal from Derwent, which are more suitable for larger areas and can also be super blurred.
