For me as an absolute fan then this album is another milestone in the history of the band. For those who have bitched in advance about the new songs, Sunrise Avenue their sound would be unfaithful ---> Already last album "Out of Style "said frontman Samu Haber, that he wants to be stuck musically into any category and would find it boring to have a firm and characteristic band sound.
"Unholy Ground" sounds different from its three predecessors. But that should not be a disadvantage. The boys are musically arrived at a very high level and convince on the new album in all areas. It is for every taste, from the ballad to heavy rattling rock song! A very varied and multifaceted album, build the Sunrise Avenue where they left off with "Out of Style". This m. M. to typical and distinctive melodies, paired with great rock sounds can still be found before and yet everything is completely different, in a positive way!
I'm really completely thrilled and now here comes yet my personal ranking of songs:
ABSOLUTE FAVORITE
1. Aim for the Kill
2. Don`t Cry (Don`t Think About It)
3. Hurtsville
4. Lifesaver
5. Afraid of the Midnight
6. Girl Like You
7. Little Bit Love
GOOD to listen
8. Unholy Ground
9. If I Fall
10. I can`t Break Your Heart
NOT MY TASTE
11. Letters in the Sand
That's just one number, one with which I can do nothing, absolutely bearable. Because I want to complain about at all.
The second CD constitutes live recordings of Big Band Theory tour.
Sometimes I can not do anything. But two songs are not quite so classically implemented and at the same time a single dream ... namely, "Angels on a rampage" and "Hollywood Hills"! The latter number is entering a long piano solo, and I must confess (as Guy) at this point that I know the vociferous Mitgesang the fans actually driven tears of joy in his eyes. Alone for this moment, the purchase of this album in the Deluxe Edition has paid off. For such a moment I had my life not when listening to a CD! Thank Sunrise Avenue :-)
Overall, I can not say which is the best of the now 4 albums with the best intentions. Samu & Co provide easy repeatedly from a dreamlike mix of rock and pop. Each album is an absolute cracker for himself and Sunrise Avenue will never unfaithful despite some sound experiments. The recognition factor in my opinion is very high and in the whole cheese of today on the radio, it is a relief at last now and then to hear the sympathetic Finns!
I wish Sunrise Avenue every success with your "baby # 4"! And after I on an exclusive live gig the band was yesterday and the fever has been characterized again cranked up, I now look forward to the extreme tour in February 2014! A little tip: I definitely still no better live singers experienced as Samu Haber! The guy is crazy!
Likewise, the album ... 10 star there by myself! :-)
