Difficult to give an opinion on the game without talking about Blizzard and its questionable policy, but try anyway.
Starcraft 2 is a GREAT game. And the best proof to my mind is that I'm a pretty demanding player and yet here is soon 2 years since I played not get bored for a second.
Technically it is a success. It is beautiful and chiadé. I would even licked. Having seen many games, few can boast of being left with so little display bugs with such a strong physical and such a fluidity, even on dated machines. The visual and sound atmospheres are impeccable, there is nothing to say.
The game itself is completely infinite. The campaign is lengthy and even quite simple to complete if the end, even in hard mode. It's starting to get tougher in brutal and yet ... BUT first black point of the game was that the Terran campaign at present. The Zerg campaign "Heart of the Swarm", promised for the end of the year will probably happen instead in March. And therefore need to buy a new game, or rather an extension to play. Then again for the Protoss campaign (hence no date). If that ensures the game a renewal and an undisputed replayability, it is clear that in the end, it still comes back to buy 3 games ... Blizzard / Vivendi points its nose dough machine ...
However, if the campaign is "incomplete", multi, it is complete. The three races are arranged and infinitely playable. And that is the real interest of the game. With the success of the first game which was played more than 10 years after its release (and even today), Blizzard has focused on multiplayer. And if everything is not perfect, the principal is made to hang us hours and hours to our PC. The game is very well balanced and that is what makes the strength of the title and its real value added (compared to its competitors: age of empires online and unlike Diablo 3). Whatever race you play, how you play it and our standard, each party will be different and there is no ultimate technique. No farming, no hotel or sales charge units, only the skill account (and thus the drive) and that, from a playful point of view it is a notable fact. Personally, Starcraft 2 is the ONLY game I played (and there was) where I spent much time documenting myself, working out, watching videos and to progress and get involved all this with pleasure !!!!
Then, still talking about Blizzard and Battle.net. All is not perfect by any means. I have already discussed trade policy on extensions of the campaign, there is also the disappearance of the LAN mode and the omnipresence of the Internet connection to play, even solo !!!! But precisely unlike a Diablo 3 (which seems blizzard hit bottom), the comments of the players are really taken into account and significant changes were made to the game to Battle.net and the system to the make it more successful and more in tune with the community. Developers sembblent provide the same care in SC2 as an MMO which, although it does not mention the disastrous economic model Blizzard / Vivendi, to nuance things: 35 (today) game, chiadé and culminated with the entire machine developers who ensure to perpetuate the game, it's still reasonable. Note that at 40 euros extensions, if one expects a lifetime, not least that of al-half of its predecessor, this is correct.
Note in the coming improvements (with HOTS or before), the disappearance of regionalization, we can play with the rest of the world (but is it really a good idea to be able to face Korean ?, Knowing that the bronze there, This is at least the gold here), we'll see appear clans and the game "ladder out" (possibility of making the unclassified 1V1). There already has chat channels to find teammates or opponents and discuss with them, a HUGE mass custom maps and mods including some very successful and that extend even more the life of the game.
BRIEF: an infinite game I do not get tired and keep me still I hope a long time. Now everything is not perfect but Blizzard, at least for Starcraft, appears to show an interest in the development of the game and e-sports and therefore remains close to the community, which will keep just smile (unlike Diablo 3). Starcraft's still the best model eco proposed by Blizzard on its 3 key titles (SC2, WOW and Diablo 3)
