Now we wanted to set a Santoku knife, finally invest again and I stumbled upon the recommendation of a grindstone. After the reviews here I decided to forgo buying a new knife and first to try to sharpen the old.
Ordered yesterday, arrived today, just snacked: Place a quarter of an hour in the water, and dispense with the slippery plastic holder. Instead, a tea towel wetted, wrung out and placed between countertop and stone. The videos on the net are revealing and I am very satisfied. Although I did not make the "falling tomatoes Test", but cut a ripe tomato prima, the onion had no chance, in the next few days are off the next diameter.
With practice, the result is sure to be even better, but so far I have managed it smoothly and quickly.
The Santoku is then on my wish list for the next birthday.
