God of War (GoW) plays under the PSP Games certainly in a league all its own. A furious masterpiece of graphics, gameplay and atmosphere - clearly one of the top games for the PSP.

The graphics is impressive real. Explosions, blood, light, shadow, everything looks for PSP ratios from bombastic and affords nowhere even the slightest error.

When it comes to atmosphere GoW can score, the player is put in the role of Kratos to ancient Greece and will immediately feel at home. The houses, people, technology, everything is designed in detail and consistent in itself. A whole series of well-made video she completes thing.

Gameplay Technically GoW joins the Devil May Cry series, it is possible opponents with furious combinations of swords, a gauntlet and all sorts of magic einzustampfen. The animations are implemented flawlessly and beautifully to the last detail and are really fun. Weapons and abilities can be upgraded with earned in battle orbs and new combos automatically come then do so. Unfortunately, GoW does just the most important point, the gameplay, a few light up blunders:
First of all, any opponent with any type of mini-attack any combo, and no matter how powerful, easy to break or to hide in the middle behind his shield. Conversely, however, this is not possible, especially since the sign of Kratos was probably meant more as a decoration because it only reacts very slowly and offers little protection, so that a defense happens to the plate by chance. So be it, in the low level of difficulty that is hardly relevant, because the enemy cause little damage. The situation is different already in the middle of difficulty, because you have been careful if the opponent suddenly start wild rumzufuchteln and a tear of the most beautiful combos. Which leads me inevitably to the greatest blunder of GoW, the high degree of difficulty:
A game has only replayability when the higher levels of difficulty still playable, that is, are still creating. The lowest level of difficulty is very suitable for beginners, to record and to test various combos. The central difficulty is more of what rehearsed semi professionals who already know the enemy and their approach and how you have to meet them. The high degree of difficulty, however, makes the small but subtle difference between "challenging" and "childish" significantly and thus partly already not fun anymore. Here the gameplay of GoW is (just the combos) quite destroyed, because as I said every Mini-opponent can break with a mini attack each Kombo and inflicts considerable damage caused by the high degree of difficulty. That is for the player, no more combos, but only large, heavy attacks, a few times in a row and each opponent is made small in the long run. Just does not do half as much fun as the big combos.
Especially the boss fight against Persephone in the high degree of difficulty is totally wrong, it makes four or five times in a row your super attack that throws you to the ground, and that's it. The player gets little chance.
The fourth difficulty I have accordingly after three weeks can not unlock.
But as I said, the lower two levels of difficulty are playable and fun.

The game time is actually quite short. Newcomers will be just a few hours busy rounders have GoW through in three to four hours. Nevertheless, the game has high replay value and can be easily carried gambled again.

Conclusion:
God of War is fun. Again and again. The overall picture is right and who is on sleek, stylish combat action can not avoid God of War.
