In 1984, the brilliant debut album of Lloyd Cole and the Commotions appeared: Rattlesnakes, British guitar pop to perfection, most romantic, sometimes behave cheerful, always a little less melancholic sounding than "The Smiths", the second big Gitarrenpopband 80. Unlike the latter received Lloyd Cole and the Commotions never the place of honor in the British pop history, they would have deserved. Perhaps that will change in 2004. To mark the 20th anniversary of publication will be released a sonically revised edition, a bonus CD with live recordings of the day is also included. But, the already available CD of Rattlesnakes is highly recommended, good sound and four songs more than on the original vinyl release.
