"Stranglehold" is a dyed in the wool action game of the old school. No open gameplay, no alternative solutions, but only shoot like crazy easy. Who therefore has no problem of getting with "Stranglehold" the perfect adrenaline rush in between. It's just fun, to shoot by the dozen enemy hordes. By cool slow motion function, the Tequila Bombs and almost endless ammo makes you feel like in a John Woo film. However, tactical approach is never asked. From time to time you have to go in cover or use the destructible environment to his advantage, but otherwise simply helps just shoot, shoot, shoot. While this may sound repetitive, but by the great-designed levels makes it easy always fun. Especially herausfordernt the game is terrible. Only the boss battles require the player some skill from, but only on the higher difficulty levels. The graph of Stranglehold is breathtaking. Here the Unreal 3 engine shows finally that they can do more than just gray and dark-green. The main characters are all designed with great detail. The environments have been put together with love and the explosions are truly wonderful to behold. Only the "normal" enemies are a bit too generic and see almost all the same. The story of the game is very simple knit, but it tells in great fantastic cutscenes. Another factor that always motivates one are caused by "style points" (you get by particularly spectacular kills) unlockables such as new models for the multiplayer or artwork. The multiplayer part itself is nothing special, the one can also safely ignore.
All in all it can be said that "as a straight shooter Stranglehold works very well and for people who wanted to be part of an action film ever before, exactly the right thing.
