I bought the Asus PB287Q 4K monitor of course mainly due to the enormous resolution. That part came directly the next day packed well with me at (thanks to Amazon Prime). Unpacked and inspected only once. Then I connected the monitor and wanted to direct even clear testing comes as the Macbook with the resolution.
At first, the resolution was more than unsatisfactory. Although I was able to drive with a HDMI cable, the 4k, but it could hardly read anything since the signature was extremely small. So I tried a number of resolutions and am then stayed with 2K. So really satisfactory, however, that was not. Who the HiDPI (retina) has once deviated compared, noticed the heavily washed-out look.
So I have a Macbook Pro with DisplayPort cable (Lindy Premium - DisplayPort cable - DisplayPort (M), 41551) connected even more quickly 1.1 to DP 1.2 changed in the Monitor Settings of DP et voilà, the display supports HiDPI.
In the Display Monitor settings can now be found the same configuration options as well as the integrated display. Who wants to have a little more control over resolution and pixel density can be, as I install QuickRes.
