Because of the praises of the new Sigma 35mm 1.4 My expectations were high at this 30mm 1.4 and they were not disappointed:
- Fast, quiet and accurate autofocus
- No fehlfokus on my EOS 600D
- Very high-quality workmanship
- Very sharp over the entire image field even at full aperture
I had the opportunity to compare this lens directly with its predecessor (Sigma 30mm 1.4 EX DC HSM). What is particularly struck me:
- The autofocus sits right the first time and "jump" not constantly, as its predecessor
- The Vignette is significantly lower in the new model, at least at f 2.8 are worlds between predecessor and successor
- Even at maximum aperture, the edge region The new model is very sharp, not compared to its predecessor. The translation (in focus) image center is the new model also sharper than its predecessor, but which is visible only in the 100% view.
My personal conclusion: With the new model, the weaknesses of its predecessor (autofocus & Feather) have been fixed. That's why I sold the old model and keep this here.
