After Howard Jones on January 4, 2012 announced on his Facebook page that he would leave the band due to many years undetected diabetes disease, and further cooperation with the band was no longer possible, the fans were shocked. In the subsequent live performances Killswitch Engage the öffteren of All That Remains vocalist Phil Labonte was supported in order then again, back zuholen original singer Jesse Leach, who left the band 10 years ago because of depression into the boat - the original line up to complete again. In the texts allowed Jesse Leach on this album completely free hand. Not for nothing he chose exactly why "The Light in Me" as the opener track of the new album. Jesse Leach has put all his differences on ice and successfully fought his demons. Why he's back in the band, he proves to not even half a minute: It's simply one of the best singers of this genre. How paralisierend, and at the same time desperate his voice, shows "Beyond the Flames" how massive he can scream, "The Turning Point" how moving he can write lyrics, "New Awakening", to which he is capable of grandiose Hooks, the first single "In Due Time" - a song of modern metalcore in all its diversity. Guitarist Adam Dutkiewicz brettert to meet really fast melodies to then again to slow down, to switch to grandiose riffs. By including "Always", also quiet moments on the album are included, and show Killswitch Engage from one side, where you might think "that could also possibly be Times of Grace".
Conclusion: Jesse Leach: The prodigal son returns home. Who here thinks that Killswitch Engage is getting old, is here (fortunately) disappointed. This album is, in my opinion, the fastest album of the band. An album whose texts on the one hand very personal, on the other side of the living are gripped. Disarm the descent is the hard-hitting evidence that has turned luckily all the positive, and the band has returned to its former strength. Killswitch Engage can keep their Vormachtstelleung not only, but also to further expand. Welcome back, guys.
Version: hard-boiled KSE fans I would instead put the normal standard version, the Special Edition Digipak CD / DVD warmly recommend - because the CD contains 4 bonus tracks, as well as the DVD is a 30 minute "Behind the Scenes" documentation includes.
