and least:
the bulky but hey it is very comprehensive (stabilizer, viewfinder, rotating screen, built-in flash), lack tropicalization, just a little autonomy, building the back screen with 1mm recessed which does not easily find a perfectly placed screen protector on it to protect it, very confusing interface and menus, a "disp" button misplaced that one tends to operate inadvertently
General Comment:
In the world of micro 4/3, this Panasonic GX7 is placed in competition with Olympus Ep5, EM5 and EM10 and a step above the Lumix Gx1. In early January 2015, it is probably late career and great prices are charged by Amazon for this particular case. So far it is the only Panasonic to be stabilized and that's a big plus. Admittedly, this is a two-axis stabilization suffers from the comparison with the Olympus EM5 and Ep5 which are 5-axis. But it is very effective and allows the Panasonic box to solve a real dilemma is to put on its Lumix Olympus lenses and losing stabilization. With the GX7, no problem! The GX7 is for expert photographers who want a box with vouchers automation (modes and settings), functions gadgets but also have the opportunity to "regain control" by acting either itself without losing 3:00 to go for 14 functions in submenus. The GX7 used to operate no less than 9 shortcuts that you can customize.
Its her considerable assets which the integrated viewfinder always practical to get by when you can not target on the screen. It is fast, its autofocus is precise and swift, quality jpeg shots is very good. The increase in sensitivity poses no concern until 1600 isos. A 3200 is workable but it is best to go through a raw file processing in computer software to find a very good image quality and therefore less noise. I find the use of the touch screen more successful (you can grab most of the functions on the touch without going through the menu button) than Olympus. The wifi mode is very comprehensive because it also allows users to connect silent / smartphone to transfer photos to everything that is connected in wifi (pc, tv ...).
The kit with 20mm pancake lens, designed for the GX7 is a nice offer. It is a perfect combination to photograph in the streets, landscape and interior as it opens to 1.7. The autofocus is quiet and fast enough even if there are better especially in Olympus. It is an objective very appreciated by its users because versatile and delivers images of excellent quality (beautiful contrasts, sharpness and bokeh).
5 stars for the rest GX7 upscale housing Panasonic in terms of equipment and available settings. The picture quality is really good. I think the GX7 is a great synthesis of knowledge panasonic with a box facing the 4/3 micro universe and all its stakeholders.
