Under the housing a Samsung Spinpoint M9T hides available in following 2000GB versions:
ST2000LM003
ST2000LM004
ST2000LM005
ST2000LM006
The ST2000LM005 is the only one who is under the name M9TU runs and according to various forums and threads incompatible for use as an internal solution to a PS3 / PS4 or notebooks. The reason for this is said to be the board for the USB controller soldered directly to the board in this embodiment. In the other embodiments, only a motherboard with USB 3.0 is plugged into the SATA connector. This must only pull and you can already use this as an internal hard drive.
Unfortunately, you lose not only guarantee claims when opening the case, but also know in advance which of these 4 versions is not installed. For me it was the ST2000LM003 and works perfectly.
Unlike the hard drive changes in the exchange PS3 went here with all the trimmings in less than 30 minutes via the stage. For instructions, there were loads in the network.
Who waits that is offered this plate directly or as an internal solution, will probably be disappointed.
Since this board is still made by Samsung, this has, however, given the division, neither Seagate nor any other producer can offer this plate as an internal hard drive where Samsung ultimately it says.
Some dealers here do certainly, this was but said that they buy, open and this "effort" even those plates here - pay extra - let.
All in all I am very satisfied with this solution. everything works perfectly and the bottom line remain effective for use over 1.8TB.
