The story of three heroes more or less bloodthirsty (Igricheff, a Kyrgyz lawless, Mordhom a Briton who plays hard but a tad sentimental if you dig a little, and Philip, a French naive, rich and brave) that crapahutent Yemen in a turn of the century, and then in Ethiopia ... A novel rooted in his time, very colonial (we are still in the myth of the "good negro"), and very well written (normal is the Kessel. ..). Many actions, not hemoglobin evil (and c'mon I blindingly obvious you and I'll rip your heart ...), one does not get bored. A "local" vocabulary a bit difficult, however (except for those who know immediately what a "chaouch" a "sotnia", a "dhow" and "djebels" ...)
