Counting Crows were a band that was always kind of a presence in the background with me. Already with their first album they made a major breakthrough as REM Alternative, after which they were to "Recovering The Satellites" unusual rock to bore you with "This Desert Life" rather. "Hard Candy" was somehow unremarkable, neither fish nor fowl. It followed several years of pause, then an experimental plate and a cover album that have not elicited me from the oven. Now we write 2014, and I had almost forgotten the band. But again Suddenly comes a new album and you think only once: "Only 9 songs - that's not enough for a full length album?" Nevertheless, I hear a look and marvel not bad, but what the band has it. Now that REM are history, they need no one to imitate, perhaps the great liberation? Anyway chasing a great song to others, especially "Scarecrow" just will not get out of the ear. Madness song, intelligent text - what more could you want? The remaining songs not disappoint, the band wants it to Adam Duritz '50th birthday - he incidentally also! - Real know again and shows an energy and creativity not seen for over 15 years. Absolute buy recommendation!
