Network:
The 760 can be extremely easy to adjust via the menu on one IP address, and then via a browser. There are countless settings concerning. SIP, RTP Protrokollen, different identities, etc. Stay here (almost) nothing to be desired!
Even SIP and network analyzes can carry the phone.
I have not tested the ability of the integrated OpenVPN client.
Connections for a cable or Bluetooth headset are present, a USB port and a connection for a PC if the phone in the network cable from the PC to be "looped".
It is supplied via PoE, which is not available, a commercial 5V power supply can be used.
Feel:
The feel is excellent, no wobbly silicone keys, as they are otherwise often used by Siemens and Co. on system telephones. The processing is very valuable and is reminiscent of the good old Cisco 79xx series.
The handset is very comfortable to hold.
Also on the wall, it makes a strong impression, the handset does not fall down accidentally.
Sound:
The handset is well-matched, with the use of codecs such as G722 understanding is excellent.
So make calls fun!
Also handsfree works properly with good sound quality. Not as perfect as Cisco usual, but so that you can comfortably hold a conference with several people.
Display:
The display is now visible even from the proper angle.
In the first 760 series (R1) that was unfortunately not the case, the LCD was installed simply wrong by 180 degrees around so that the readability in shallow angles was bad. This has been fixed in the current series (R3), very good!
In acc. Config photos of callers, weather, news etc. can be displayed.
Function keys:
Another highlight of this phone: 16 freely programmable function keys with LED status indicators. These can be covered with an abundance and variety of functions and actions. The interaction with Asterisk works without problems.
Headset:
Works with the snom USB BT dongle and a standard Plantronics ML20 / R properly.
Phonebook:
Again, there are again many possibilities, but with a server (such as LDAP) work best.
Or a simple XML file at any URL.
Updates:
Perhaps the only small catch, because the updates can sometimes have to wait a bit to be ...
Conclusion:
Mir is currently not known that on the desk as a professional look, can be widely configured and interacts with all major open source systems (FreePBX, plain asterisk).
For questions there is a snom Forum, which will, inter alia, co-supervised by snom MAs.
