One of the best currently available LCG's / Board Games

I can fully connect the first review for this article content, and for me is Mage Wars one of the best board games that I own and know!
Arcane Wonders is thus really a big hit and Pegasus can consider yourself lucky this game in the German-speaking countries to be able to sell!

What Mage Wars is apart from other LCG`s currently available on the one hand the game board where you can be with his units to move freely within the means, which gives the whole again very much tactical depth (I bring my mage now with in the fight or I build on a strong defense and igle me in my corner) on the other hand there are the two magic books discretion which the respective "magician" allow in each round two spells / creatures / formulas etc. at its select and bring in the action phase into play.
Although the lead right at the beginning (when the card is not so familiar) but that has to drag on the rounds a little longer the advantage that you are not so dependent on card skills at follow suit.
Fortunately you need at Mage Wars only when Roll for the fighting.

Also really liked was my guide structurally perfectly built, despite the more than 50 pages you need not to be put off because everything is and described in great detail exactly - for me one of the best guides in the genre of so-called "A lot of games" - it remained anyway with me no questions unanswered.
Especially great is the final "Code" where really all terms are described again in short form (including page reference to the long description.) - Here you have really been thinking and trying to make the whole as understandable as possible.
Pegasus can also clearly make a compliment to the German version, which as regards the translation, has become very good!
After 1-2 hours reading instructions can be started in any case quite well, without having to search for a long time in forums or on YouTube by tutorial videos or playing aids.

As a newcomer, it is also possible to do an apprenticeship game (with smaller prefabricated decks and smaller pitch, also the special actions of magicians are not here and the hit points have been slightly reduced), to get in and learn the basic actions a very good idea.
For each of the four magicians contained in the basic game, there is also an already prefabricated deck or one imagines its own together which is also very well done!
The only disadvantage is that you have some time to own spellbook need to compile, especially if you have only occasional players I think that's a big disadvantage is because hardly anyone take so in the mass of spells the time to build your own deck but that's for other LCG's also the case.

The game material is also very well done, the cards designed quite nice.
You should note that you already properly needs for board lots of space, a halfway large table needs for supplies already be to also have enough space for the whole Cardboard Tokens, wooden tiles, status bars and cubes, also you should take for a round already a lot a lot of time.
At first we used loosely 3h (a lot of time takes, as I said, to select the correct spells in claim) for a round! The time stamp on the package (45-90 minutes) refers to MMN quite experienced players, beginners should in any case allow 2-3 hours!

Incidentally, it is also possible to play four, 2v2 or FFA is possible additional spell books and action markers are commercially available.
With 4 players, I'd also been recommended to enlarge the playing field and to expand the card pool, a second basic set, alternatively I suggest the two in German available basis spell extensions before (each containing 110 maps the main game), another playing field can be safely make even otherwise.
To the english version of the game are also already published several other extensions come along with each 2 new magicians and several new spells - you can rest assured that Pegasus will bring this also in German! (The first is currently announced for April 2014).
I can assure the Perplexed but alone the main set so many opportunities that you can not necessarily rely on extensions, you will also have the base game long his joy!

For me one of the best board games ever and the MMN currently best available "LCG", I like even better than Android Netrunner or the Star Wars LCG that were played intensified lately with me.
