Dark Beauty

Personally, I'm so happy times a problem to join certain hypes in the music press. Besides sound, smoke and a few strange hairstyles is because often nothing behind. But here comes with The XX, a band around the corner, which has invariably deserves all the praises and is well on its way, quite inconspicuous produce the surprise album of music in 2009.

Minimalist you go here do not. Short name of the band, who is also the album name and of course a cover which is simply decorated with a 'X'. As with the treasure hunt, so to speak, the X marks the spot. And if you dig after this music turns out to be this album as an incredibly minimalist, but precisely by incredibly intoxicating dream. The quartet from London unfolds a grim beauty with the simplest means. 2 guitars, a bass and beats triggered aus'm drum machine and a few light electric set pieces enough, combined of course with incredible hits, who want to be anything really, just do not give such. It is as if the grim despair and mood of early Cure and Joy Division experienced an amazing reinterpretation that is safe few bands managed in this way at the end of decade. The music is sad, melancholic, but allows himself always moments of hope. This album is great and wonderful so incredible to hear that there is an almost brings tears to my eyes. Long despair, isolation and darkness were no longer so well packaged in music, as here. Special mention songs that stand out makes no sense here. You do it all on its own way. Just listen to the first 2.3 songs, to know what you're getting here. At the end of almost 40 minute work leaves me with an incredibly good feeling that I put it without asking for a second time in the player. And creating a few plates. 'The XX' is an honest, emotional and incredibly good album full of wonderful soft sounds.
