Actually a little disappointed with this novel, supposed to be the seminal work of cyberpunk. Perhaps precisely because the concepts on which they are based have since been completely unmarked in cinema, literature ... and real life. No real surprise, then, little action, nothing really spectacular or surprising, unlike Wired Walter John Williams, published at the same time, which now seems much more innovative and on which I have much more hooked. Writing is certainly good, often vivid and compelling, like the protagonists, but sometimes like them tortured and difficult to follow. This is probably partly due to translation problems, but often deliberate. Some incomprehensible passages and eventually illuminate much later and it often seems to be wandering, as the bottom of the story has eluded us as the characters who are only charged pions run contract. Emphasis is also put as much or more about what goes on in the head of the heroes in the real world, which tends to empty the account of any epic. Overall one gets the impression of flying over the events, and that does not happen much. Finally, from my point of view, the book is worth more for its psychological approach of the characters, by its ability to transcribe these pragmatic and disillusioned personalities, and immerse ourselves in the cold and dark atmosphere of this world actually not that far from our .
