Much better than the very modest previous album "The Unforgiving", presents itself "Hydra" as neatly with metal chords fully pumped, punchy album, with the band zoom ventures on new ground and this consistently can convince - especially the duet with rapper Xzibit Not only is only to be considered as experimental, but in my opinion, one, if not the strongest point of the CD. The strong numbers "Dangerous" and "Paradise (What About Us)" rumble tidy and make quite fun - the extraordinary sound of "Mother Earth", "The Silent Force" or "The Heart of Everything" you look nevertheless on the Album vain. The band has evolved, but, above all, far from their partly folkloric and mostly dominated orchestral metal sound of the beginnings. Negative also notice that the quality of the songs rapidly falls around the middle of the album. That some fans of the first hour, can no longer identify with quite this album, is so far not surprisingly, while it may therefore come for others after by many as "too mainstream" perceived album "The Unforgiving" than reconciliation offer. I count myself among the latter, although I do not see "Hydra" at eye level of "Mother Earth", "The Silent Force" or "The Heart of Everything" and will certainly be back again access to these albums in the future.
