However, I can not assign 5 stars because of the following aspects:
On one hand, most of the songs are a bit more sophisticated than that of "This Darkened Heart" album, on the other hand, some sound now but also more to the metalcore pabulum, which so many other groups have committed. Apparently the Lord Dutkiewicz got in song production since the "success" of its predecessor more say. This is especially the 1st ("This Calling") and 2.Lied ("not alone") audible. The incidence of clear singing is much higher, which is lost a certain exclusiveness of this vocal style. That and the fact that hardly a song, as opposed to its predecessor, more than 4min. is, sounds a bit of imagination and strong cries to pop music (and the friends of easy knitted music).
In addition, its predecessor all the songs were co-ordinated. In this album I miss completely: The songs are thrown together without order and the CD increases immediately with the pace that almost all the time is kept. Song number 6 ("The weak willed") thereby drops out particularly. Nothing against this style (which had quietly frequently can be used), but it creates a break which would have by frequent use by or in several (n) Songs (n) of this type can be avoided. Too Bad. It sounds simple after a thoughtless composed CD.
However, it should not sound as if the CD was mediocre! This CD, especially this group is, in my opinion, one of the best; at least from the direction of the broad metal cores.
The guitar solos are a dream and the use of the individual vocal styles is completely varied, even if strikes me as too much clean vocals. At the right moment used, this could achieve a better effect than with a traditional usage.
The album gets, like its predecessor, 4 stars from me. It has some improvements, but also some deterioration compared to the previous place (see above) and thus it is still the same good in the sum. It is still way better than the many metalcore albums.
But buying the CD and judge for yourself. A purchase is this album all times worth.
