I ordered my white in color, and I am very fond of the very valued and also send impression made on the camera.
But I would like to especially on the question of whether the 1V2, the picture quality has improved.
To find out, I have both cameras with the three lenses that I own (the kit lens 10-30mm f / 3.5-5.6, the "Pancake" wide-angle lens 10mm f / 2.8 and the standard lens 18.5mm f / 1.8) equipped and using a tripod made a series of recordings.
These pictures I first compared the computer in an enlarged format with each other and then also on the basis of A3 printing.
My Result: The image quality of the 1V2 though is not very significant, but become much more visible.
Thus the focus has improved, I can recognize the drawing of fine lines.
The images also show now a more nuanced color scheme and a stronger contrast.
However, the noise has increased, which is probably due to the 14-megapixel sensor and the increased to 160 minimum ISO value.
The picture quality is now that my big DSLR, a D700, very close, they can due to the very small sensor reach of course not.
The increase of megapixels on the sensor from 10 to 14 is obvious but not been in vain.
Above all, I am very happy that I can now shoot blur-free photos. The eyepiece allows me to draw the camera to your eye and the handle allows me the camera securely to grasp and put the arms close to your body and thus achieve the necessary stabilization - all this was not possible so when 1J1, making it especially often came up with the non-image stabilized fixed focal length lenses for camera shake.
I am very content with the camera and I suspect that I will perform the 1V2 increasingly with me and will let my D700 increasingly at home.
What I did not yet clear is the benefit of the HDR function. The camera can indeed from differently exposed images put together with a single press of the shutter button a HDR photo which has a higher dynamic range (ie: a better tracing of bright and dark areas of the image) should result. But this HDR function can be enabled only when you shoot in automatic mode. So now you have no way the individual functions (aperture, ISO speed, etc.) set by hand. For HDR shots in churches with my D700 I present example always diaphragm 16 because of the depth of field and ISO 100 because of the picture quality and use a tripod, because to be expected of up to several seconds with slow shutter speeds. Therefore me the practical effect of HDR images with the 1V2 in low light appear rather low, but at least to some extent, given how the set up shots of the church interior show.
I hesitated but mainly because of the steep price by purchasing the camera, but I'm still happy to have taken the step.
Above, I've set a photo of a Christmas tree at night, to show that with the Nikon 1V2 also at night you can take pictures with high ISO values - without flash and without tripod.
Addendum:
Because of the very small sensor with 14 megapixels, the risk of image noise is stronger than for cameras with Nikon 1 cameras added with 10 megapixels, especially when shooting with high ISO values, the image greatly curtails and it then also a makes expression in A3. But even at ISO 160 image noise may occur in darker areas.
Since the camera is to keep so very safe with the handle and thus the risk of camera shake is greatly reduced, both the shutter speed and the ISO value can be set very low.
The best setting I use ISO 160-400 (if possible 160!) And an aperture between 4.0 and 5.6.
The supplied kit lens I do not use, but only the high-intensity fixed focal length 10mm (equivalent to 27mm camera conversion) and 18.5mm (equivalent to 50mm camera conversion). A 32mm lens (equivalent to 86mm small picture) has been announced for spring 2013.
Photos of still objects I can with 1 / 15sec. record without shaking.
Circumcisions I make only a limited extent.
Then prepares a very good expression to DIN A3plus no problems.
