DEPECHE MODE "Speak & Spell"

Speak & Spell (Audio CD)

Customer Review

When I would 1981 schoolfriend of four boys vorschwärmte make the scary cool music and even then soooo sweet look, did not interest me DEPECHE MODE for now actually times. But then I got "Speak & Spell" in the fingers and I was, as I electronic Kraftwerk or Gary Numan loved to love not to say the music of four teenage Englishman excited. It was the music that I've been waiting for my 15 years (!?!).
Under the motto the dance Mikorchip where calculators were dancing and snap tape machines was the music of Depeche Mode at a part of my youth. Electro mastermind Vince Clarke, who after "Speak & Spell", the band left and then to conquer with Yazoo and Erasure the charts in the world programmed to sugary Starkstrompop of even the most stubborn braces pupertierender girl brought to burn.
"Speak & Spell" is perhaps not the best Depeche Mode disc but the most important, because the first and therefore indispensable to the first hit singles of the band "New Life", "Dreaming of me". "Puppets" and "Photographic" showed here already, the potential was in this band.
Who would have thought in 1981 that of all the left by Vince Clarke rest of the band, Dave Gahan, Andy Fletcher and Martin L. Gore has become a much better songwriter than Vince Clarke and Depeche Mode for maybe the biggest band of the 80s and 90s are let and the present until the day.
One can as a diehard fan DM only hope that the journey of Dave, Martin and Andy is (unfortunately without Alan) continue for some years and the boys continued to work their own creative way of has made them what they are. For best band in the world (despite all solo attempts).
"Speak & Spell" is a must for every DM supporter and synth-pop and friend deserve more than 5 stars.
And what is the last track of "Speak & Spell" - "Just Can not Get Enough" being played on every show in the end.
I for one never get enough of it and take the plate on the deserted island.
