Violator (Audio CD)

Customer Review

Violator or German "contract Cast Away" was the seventh album of the band. Breach of contract, the guys are not, but with this album beat Depeche Mode sound-wise completely different, not to say much more commercial direction. Gone are the nice sound samples that make the two previous albums 'Black Celebration and Music For The Masses' to absolutely exciting sound experiences, but gone are the many so far so incisive synth sounds that did not go a long time out of the ear.

These have been replaced with dark rhythmic drums and blaring sounds Arpegiator, where every now and then the beloved old song structures to be used (Personal Jesus, Halo, Policy Of Truth).

Depeche Mode therefore comply with Violator not only the wishes of the fans, but to win with less complex song structures also add new listeners. So Violator is still the best-selling and most successful album of Depeche Mode, which I still do not understand why the title - Dangerous, Happiest Girl, Sea Of Sin, and the three great instrumentals - Memphisto, Sibeling and Kalid - not the way again Album found, and were released only as B-sides. Maybe it was the fact that the music industry back then still primarily looked at the album length because the formwork panel at the music lovers still higher in price than was the CD. So disappear six grandiose title for a long time in the archive before they were finally released in 2004 on the Depeche Mode single boxes number 4 and 5 again, and be a little later in 2006 on the great remastered CD / DVD edition , and now also in excellent 5.1. DTS Surround Sound or let enjoy.
