Despite some weaknesses a nice gaming experience

(Anticipation:. Everything here is related to the patched version 1.02 graphics -especially textures and Light Effect and stability have been improved by this patch to EONS compared to version 1.0!)

Since I like action-oriented games with lots of character interaction (examples: Mass Effect, The Witcher, the famous Telltale Games) had and I like Venetica hoped, the beginning of the game was a bit of a shock: The Motion animations and graphical implementation of the NPCs are rather a caricature than ernstgemeint (motion capture? What's that?) and the dialogues work places really naive. The control acts unfamiliar and the exposure of the story is a clap in a few short minutes at the beginning of the face. Here I needed sitzfleisch to not give up, but that did stay tuned to definitely worth it, as much in advance.

A key point of the whole: There are more negative reviews that convey an important message: Venetica is absolutely not "grow up" and does not deal with adult themes. It's kind of playable fairy tale story with a few dark moments -and many beautiful ideas, definitely - but paled in comparison to the rigor and complexity of reference titles such as "The Witcher 2" absolutely no country.
An example of the innocence that runs through the whole game: protagonist Scarlett is indeed a digital man's dream - but no character in the play speaks to that. There is simply never discussed, not even there by the filthiest scoundrel in the farthest alleys even the slightest hint. Instead, give the opponent the same cliché sayings of themselves, they would also secrete a muscle-bound Conan-waste. Parallel it seems implausible if a: could be Scarlett's motive among others revenge for the deceased loved one (which occurred immediately after starting the game Death I felt straight depicted banal as and has little interest in me as a character in total) and then accordingly b: within In -Game-days of a chaste, helpless girl in a sword-and Warhammer (!) swinging warrior mutates. Really know the game is not what it wants to be: Sometimes horror-like opponent, but then again cartoon like acting supporting characters - which acts by the end of something half-baked. Although humor is found by a couple of bone-dry one-liners, but does not matter. The somewhat comically exaggerated NPCs fit neither into the graphically more realistic and also really beautiful converted Venice nor the sad and gloomy Geschichte.Letztere again does not fit to the almost Disney-compatible presentation of the action. The story itself, however, is after all the biggest selling point, and the less you know about it when the game starts, the better.

Since Venetica has just nunmal decided a classic (not directly "stale" to say yet) Action Haudrauf adventure with a few RPG-shares to be, the fighting may like to be quite. Beautifully responsive control, hardly unfair passages and cool moves and finishing Cuts (again fairly harmless and fairly bloodlessly).

The setting is consistently at a high level, when I noticed something negative, rather the simple structure of the text as the skill of the speaker.

Summary:
Positives:
+ Very pleasant and appealing heroine
+ Clever thought-out combat system, which acts initially simple, but then becomes more complex
+ Thanks graphics patch a fantastically beautiful vice Act Venice, with hundreds of open doors, catacombs, roofs, transitions, gates, gondolas, markets, churches, people ... when the player is in Venice, the atmosphere increased massively!
+ Increasingly more credible and more enthralling story
+ Pleasant direct combat system, different fighting variations problem
+ Many many small gimmicks: Beautiful day-night cycle, customized armor, castle Knack minigames, side quests on every corner - great I found the enemy, which consisted of stone figures brought to life. Super animated.
+ Boss battles require more brain power and inventiveness as a rough violence

The negative side:
- Masquerading of choices in dialogues is somewhat exaggerated
- Gameplay despite decision possibility for a certain guild to each similar
- Exposure at the beginning seems awkward, downright amateurish and the first Level boring
- Total presentation something unreal, innocent, childlike
- ... Which in turn does not match the melancholy, deep plot.
- Clichéd scenes
- Contrived acting NPCs act, graphically outdated, in dialogues "hampelnd" and unrealistic.
- Despite patch still bugged and Grafikglitches disturb the atmosphere.

Why nevertheless 4 stars? Because the game experience, at least after reaching Venice, easily can be summarized "nice" with the word. It's just fun to walk through this city, whether day, night or in the morning / evening glow. It's fun, monsters and scoundrels to slayen to move forward over the rooftops to unravel the story to complete the side quests ...
Each time has to be noted that a lot of passion and commitment invested in this game. And that's why it's fun, and it must not even be perfect.
