Great phone with the charm of the sound of the last millennium

Now after many Gigaset phones I wanted the optimal connection of a phone to my Fritz Box 6360 - ordered so the new Fritz! Fon C4, after delivery to the Manufacturer #!. 612014002 respected battery in, telephone set in cradle, integrated there now through the web interface of the box - just fine. Then, the first phone call - the pretty dull sound is immediately noticeable, quality comparable to early analog phone generations. You really have to focus a little to understand the interlocutor. Clarity of connection - nil. Called again with different Gigasets - clear link, good or very good speech intelligibility. The music playback from media servers work, Internet radio and - if you somehow find the correct URL of favorite stations! I was not clear that this can be such a time-consuming problem. But the reproduction quality of the C4 immediately reminds medium wave and early self-built radios.

Then the menu "favorites" called, promising the item entitled "The Sound HD". There are three sub-items: HD Language (if you want to hear noise again, just amazing), HD music (reminiscent of airplane earplugs), HD-ringtone (there are the old video games immediately present).

The rest of the phone, however, is well done - very clear menus, really great! The display is very good - however one sees immediately very disturbing colored rings etc. on the windshield in front of the display when the phone has come to his cheek when talking or is slightly smeared. I have in other phones - not been observed - also with color displays.

Actually I had planned to replace all Gigaset against C4's, but I shall now be. The operation is well done, but the most important on a phone, a good voice quality, is too short. Now I realize, after which extensive discussion about audio quality on the WWW is based - you can hear immediately from all my phones of late, the C4 is clearly taillight. It is absolutely incomprehensible to me how a company like AVM can bring a sound so restricted product on the market! My suggestion: With the acquisition wait until AVM has significantly improved.

For 5-star rating for the phone as such (functions, operation, design) 2 star deduction for audio quality, 1 additional star deduction for misuse of the term "HD". After a few phone calls, I have returned to the C4 Amazon - the sound quality was simply unsatisfactory. I will now revert to Gigaset.
