This book tells the story of the author and her Jewish family during World War II. Before fleeing occupied Paris during raids against the Jews which advances, Joseph Joffo and one of his brothers find themselves in the free zone until new leaks, arrest, freedom again, ending with the liberation of Paris and his return to the capital. Without being an extraordinary book, I found it pleasant to read. But sometimes one can have the impression that the author exaggerates certain facts, such as the time of the crossing of the line or its work in the black market. The fact remains that it is a beautiful testimony of a mature man who recounts his childhood abruptly halted by the war and all its consequences.
