The hard drive is first reformatted NTFS on Disk Management.
After a benchmark by AS SSD took place on PC's internal USB2 port.
On PC internal USB2 port, the Toshiba USB3 disk reaches values of 24.83 MB / s read and 21.67 MB / sec writing.
Now the same test Sharkoon USB2 LAN port took place.
Here speeds of 25.74 MB / s read and 23.44 MB / s were achieved writing.
Is expected to reach the limiting factor for even better results ie the USB2 interface be.
For USB2 these values are very good and I hope now that this little device soon comes to market with a USB3 interface.
After addition, it was connected 2.5-inch hard drive, a 160 GB external Trekstor.
This was also not connected to the Y-cable, I used only 1 port of the Y cable.
Even this hard drive has been properly integrated into Windows XP.
On Sharkoon LAN port 400 speeds of 24.22 MB / s and 22.27 MB / s were thus achieved.
Next, a USB2 stick was still connected to the UCH to video files in the format HD 720p are.
These can be played without any problems via the LAN Port400.
Now on the Toshiba hard drive 1080p video was copied, the copy of 3.5 GB large file took 138 seconds here.
Even the 1080p video could be then easily play.
The Toshiba LANPort 400 has thus earned my recommendation.
It is very user friendly and offers significantly better performance than many NAS device in the lower price ranges.
So if you simply times tries to embed an external USB2 device quickly in Windows now has a cheap way to realize this.
