After a week of ski vacation and about 500 pictures and some small movies disillusionment was at home looking at the photographs on the computer very large.
But first the good stuff
- Camera fits comfortably in your hand (even smaller and I could no longer service)
- Processing is OK given the price (of course, they can not keep up with my D90, but I also do not compare apples and oranges)
- Swiveling display is really good
- Many complain about the video function. Which is significantly better than the D90 and perfectly adequate for me. Primarily in order to photos are shot and no movies are made
- VR works very well at the full zoom (up high to digital). Debit card Full Frame flashed auto iris and 1/125 sec exposure time and although it is difficult to focus when the focal lengths of the hand out to keep quiet, the results were astounding good
Now for the negative points
- In the wide-angle to the normal zoom range provides the AF only blurred images
- Of the images made in the focal length range was just a picture really sharp. I suppose it was a fluke, as I have in the picture just pulled the trigger just off the cuff without looking
- Otherwise been all photos in terms of sharpness, at best bearable
- Lowest ISO value to be set is 160. And even there is, depending on the subject, the picture noise is already clearly visible
- Over ISO 400 makes it then absolutely no more fun
- In contrast images where eg faces are shadowed by people something that noise disturbs the facial area vastly
- Also frequently criticized Rotstich I could reproduce, but only when shooting indoors without flash and without artificial light source. When not shooting outdoors.
- Zooming, according to a stop Zoom, previously slow zoom Description.. The Quick Zoom is working fine, the area for the slow zooming I never actually meet, even if I have taken a conscious effort ranzuzoomen slowly, until nothing happens and then we went fast
- No automatic alignment of the images (maybe there is a setting that I have not yet found). All portrait photos I had to manually align the computer and I would have to align, if it had been worth it.
Conclusion
Well, either is not tested in the journals and there are only the product descriptions reproduced or my copy is just frit. I can not believe that my copy would have done more than the last place in any demeanor well test easily. Even the 80-Eur Pana, I paid 4 years ago my mother for Christmas, makes better pictures.
I hope now that I get even exchanged my camera at least once she goes back under warranty to Nikon.
Addendum 29.6.2011
After readjusting the camera also makes sharp images, which is often a matter of luck, since the AF surprisingly often off the mark (even in bright sunshine on the beach). The picture quality, however, I feel inadequate. The red tint is extremely (perhaps because I have now shot more photos with red-shares), the noise behavior imho a disaster. Ultimately, the camera was a bad buy and the times I had taken it, I always annoyed me afterwards about the results.
For moving targets (eg my never stop holding children) of AF is much too slow for stationary subjects (landscapes, architecture) are recorded at little details, overall a bad buy.
