Yes, you can. The Beyerdynamic MMX 300 plays in a different league than anything I had on the head.
I have previously played long with a Sennheiser PC160, which was perfectly fine. Only now, after a few weeks with the MMX 300 I know what was missing before. The headset is not in vain since 2 years at No. 1 at PCGH and other tests and was just in some of the ESL Pro Gamer Finals in Hannover in use.
Why does the headset of my 5 star?
5 stars - for comfort
5 stars - for the rich bass and the treble sauberern
5 stars - for entirely new listening experience in games like Battlefield 3
5 star - because we hear now that 128 kbps MP3 files are much too compressed)
5 stars - for the good shield to and from outside (you do not mind and will not be disturbed)
Brief info on sound card
I recommend for the headset a sound card with headphone amp to use - as it does already a Asus Xonar DG for around 30.00 euros. The headphone amplifier provides enough power for the headset and the sound is again a corner better than with onboard sound.
Are there alternatives to Beyerdynamic MMX 300?
In this performance class, there are no other headsets. Those who want even more sound, must have recourse to a Hi-Fi headphones above 250 euros and a corresponding microphone - but then has 2 separate devices, or must tinker.
#### Conclusion ####
This is a really good product that I - would recommend immediately - even in this price range. Last but not least the high quality workmanship and the 5-year warranty by Beyerdynamic have me convinced.
#### UPDATE 10.21.2013 ####
After 1.5 years, the connecting cable has screwed over again, which can be due to the unfavorable leadership behind my PC. The customer support of Beyerdynamic immediately available on request for a solution to replace the cable free and sent me a return ticket. So there is also true of customer service.
