I PLC 85 Mbit / s between my and my Freebox TV case and the resulting image on the TV or pixelisait froze regularly (very annoying!). As the two outlets are 4-5m "as the crow flies", but probably at a distance "wired" about 15-20m, I thought that with CPL 500 Mbits / s would solve the problem . So I ordered this pack of two PLC adapters Netgear - XAVB5601-100FRS where I had seen it a month ago the second best score of MicroHebdo for CPL 500 Mbits / s. This afternoon I received both CPL, I put them in place of the two CPL 85 Mbit / s and (as expected) everything works perfectly now. Power dissipation side, CPL seem to be at a reasonable temperature. Connection speed side, sometimes the orange LED is lit PLC (between 50 and 80 Mbits / s), sometimes it is the red LED (less than 50 Mbit / s) This means that the average flow rate is of the order of tenth of the maximum theoretical throughput, which confirms my estimate of the distance "wired" between my two takes. In conclusion, I am very pleased with my choice.
Two final remarks: * For those who complain of insufficient flow, do not forget that two doses that appear close can be connected by 10m or 20m cable (even in an apartment), which means that the actual rate may be much lower than the rate theoretical maximum, through no fault of the CPL (same remark for ADSL where there is always a greater or lesser difference between the theoretical maximum rate announced by the FAI and the actual flow rate, given the distance between DSLAM and box). * Itself, connect the adapter directly into the wall outlets, bypassing the PDUs that significantly degrade throughput.
