We follow the adventures of Danny, the little boy from "The Shining" at the age of young adult and adult. He has the gift, this ability to see the dead and communicate telepathically with others living with the same faculties. Alcoholic, he wanders without a goal in town city to settle down in a hospice where he uses his talents to help residents from dignity. With support from various stakeholders, his addiction to alcohol being from the past, it focuses on the case of a teenage telepath, Abra, chased by a gloomy organization seeking to capture its "steam", the essence of Don .
This book is particularly successful since we can follow the adventures of Danny, flayed alive by the existence which finally finds meaning in his solitary life in an exciting and rich narrative twists. Although this book is not the best of the great King, it is nevertheless very well written.
