"The Forbidden Island" is to learn in a few minutes, not to be thought heavy and a game usually lasts significantly less than an hour. For these reasons the game is predestined to a small round of players (2-4) to provide relaxed conversation in between. It is not the game for a full evening entertainment. Although the game motivated to make repeated games in succession, by varying the player characters, the island-building and various other means to increase the difficulty. But after several games the game has become then worn basically. Nevertheless, it is worthwhile to buy the game, because it's just learned so fast and for some time really is fun. All at a very moderate price. The game material is very colorful, varied and of solid quality, what justifies the price even more. The basic idea of sinking the island time and the threat of drowning, and parallel search of valuable artifacts serves as exciting scenario. The gameplay is based on a combination of maps drawing luck and strategy. The strategy will be discussed together in the group, so although each player represents a character, but their actions are always planned together. Here the greatest strength and weakness of the game is simultaneously anchored. One group of players in all are equally distributed active will have a lot of fun to the game. It may happen that some players hold back depending on personality in the discussions and that is unfortunately tantamount that you no longer participates basically the game, but just is still spectators and can move his pawn of others. Hence my relatively high rating in terms of educational quality. In this game, team play and communication are imperative. Loner destroy the game flow, make it more difficult to win and dampen the gameplay. The claim in terms of strategic thinking does not fall from too high and should be manageable for (not too young) children.
