Opinions about Sting are traditionally more ambivalent. This is not so much for his congenial time at the Police, but certainly for his subsequent solo career. In 1994 the compilation "Fields of Gold", a best of with two new releases. For some it is a pain to have to hear the whole CD at a time. One has to these people admit that the partially resounding miserable sing-song or scratching on psychedelic abyss titles but already can be quite annoying. On the other hand can be found in this work also solid craftsmanship, and some songs have undeniable world-class. All in all, the CD can be recommended not only the die-hard fans.
