I got the lens today from Amazon and have since made some test shots, each with focal lengths of 16, 24 and 35 mm in order to compare them. I used a Sony Alpha 7R and made all pictures with 36 megapixels. I liken the lens especially for Zeiss FE 24-70, which I have in use for several months. While still a remark: I have no test lab and do not measure the line pairs per millimeter. I look at the images and scale them to find blur, chromatic aberration and so on. The lens is slightly longer than the 24-70 and also slightly larger in diameter (72mm filter thread). A sun visor is included. Test Results: - Focal length of 16mm: Crisp and clear shots, hardly CAs, little loss of resolution in the corners (very good!) - Focal length of 24mm: Crisp and clear shots, hardly CAs, little loss of resolution in the corners (very good!). That seems even better than before at 24-70, but the has some blurring in the corners at the focal length - Focal length of 35mm: Here are the photos a little fuzzier (only when zoomed in). The sharpness decreases in the corners again, especially on the right side. But the shooting is still quite useful. That's when 24-70 also so that in the telephoto position, the resolution decreases slightly. I can About the Image Stabilizer not say so much, but so far no image was blurred, even when shooting indoors.
Conclusion: very useful, I give 5 stars. Unfortunately, the lens is not yet recognized in Lightroom, and I have to wait for an update. Too bad that the lens is not brighter. I do not understand why such lenses the E-mount "only" with F4 are possible when A-mount but with F2.8 (compared SEL 2470 - SAL 2470). Addendum on 20:11:14: The new Lightroom version 5.7, the lens is now recognized. Addendum on 9:12:14: On the side of digitalkamera.de today an objective test has been published, the remarks for the lens distortion and resolution, inter alia, waste to the image edges. [...] I am nevertheless still satisfied.
