Wireless Audio Sonos + Quick Start Guide for the Undecided

Before I deal with the Sonos as such, a quick tip for those who can not estimate (as I previously).
A Sonos system is ideal for people who love to listen to music, and often, an already high-quality collection of audio files have (no recordings from youtube), a little familiar with music, files, networks and the like and have fun with technology.

After I had seen and heard the Sonos system with several friends, it was clear that I wanted to buy one to me also. I started then with the startup Sonos 3+ Bridge in white. To avoid misunderstandings here tooltip for newcomers. I had only read about as well by climb, but it's actually quite simple.

There are different systems and components of Sonos for wireless music streaming operation.
- Sonos 3 and 5 (two speakers of different size and volume of sound)
- Sonos Bridge (router a Sonos system, respect no wireless router but only for Sonos)
- Sonos Connect (Sonos component for connection to existing stereo speakers)
- Sonos Connect Amp (Sonos component for connection to existing stereos)
- Sonos Sub (Sonos subwoofer as support for Sonos 3 or 5)
- Sonos Control (controller to control, instead of smartphone / computer / tablet)

The absolute minimum for the starting operation is at home, depending on the existing configuration. Examples:
A1) Router Internet available and close to the play place -> one or more Sonos Play 3 or Play 5
A2) router for Internet available and far from Abspielort -> Sonos Bridge and one or more Sonos 3 or 5
B) Router + stereo speakers available -> Sonos Connect Amp + Bridge
C) router + stereo speakers + Hifiverstärker available -> Sonos Connect + Bridge

I would recommend always purchasing a Bridge because only makes the bridge the whole truly independent. In explanation, the bridge builds the Sonos on your wireless network, all within range Sonos component drives. If you have a bridge directly connected to the own router can then the components are randomly distributed in the flat / house in the condition that a power outlet is there and you get a connection to the Bridge (The Bridge is similar to the performance of a wireless router, by 10 walls as it gets). Without Bridge each component has to be connected directly via Cable (Lan) to the router. This naturally also applies, but is associated with considerably more effort.

To control the Sonos components you need at least a computer or smartphone (iOS or Android) or tablet (iOS or Android) or alternatively the Sonos Control.

Structure:
As mentioned I start with the package 3 and Sonos Bridge (in this package, the Bridge is virtually nothing there). So the bridge into the Internet router plugged, the Sonos 3 in any outlet in the living room. Sonos software on tablet and set up. The setting works quite simply, the software searches for components and these must be activated within a time frame of 2 minutes, touch of a button to be found. So, start button on Bridge -> found 3 button on Sonos -> found -> System established.
Second step, the Data Source Setup. For me it was first a USB stick on Internet routers. This set in Sonossoftware as path and leave looking for software for music data. After about 10 minutes every 20 GB were found on the stick. (This one is sometimes also determined that many of the music data are provided with bad or missing tags so I have taken the trouble, then first to tag all files new (great for Mp3tag). So, the music library is that Sonos components are found, there you go.

First test:
The first time you play with a Sonos 3 in a 40m² room I was amazed what comes out as a nondescript box for a quite good sound. Of course, no audiophile delight is absolutely useful. If you need more or better sound simple example uses the Connect: Amp with own boxes or Connect with its own stereo. Long story short. The device not really overwhelmed and feel to sit in the room and seek out in about 10 seconds the title from its own collection and listen to the one just comes to mind is just that good. I find sometimes nothing I want to hear I switch on one of thousand available internet radio stations, also super easy.

Conclusion:
The decor is ok, not really super easy, but doable if you can already use computers, routers and smartphones. The line-up is as simple as just using the wireless operation is here is really free. The sound depends on various factors, room size, purchased components, volume, quality of the data etc etc etc. Against the power and the sound of Sonos 3 is really nothing wrong (after buying a second Sonos 3 is also the stereo operation by coupling possible) , Let's say, they sound like other speakers this size (standard shelf speakers) but absolutely not cheap.

Remarks:
- The better the data the better the music
- NAS systems are inherently better than constantly running computer (have the USB flash drive is replaced by a NAS)
- At a friend's Bridge / Connect is running on a top facility and I am always thrilled to own stereo components and all music available instantly. And the whole thing for narrow money.

Suggestions for improvement:
- Which is clearly lacking is a power switch, but here help eg Switchable sockets
- Why can not I use my smartphone / tablet does not choose as the output component (lay already in bed and want to give again the title xyz hear this I must unfortunately a Sonoskomponente in the bedroom, the smartphone / tablet is but willing) ???
