First impression: put newcomers on their own

For Mark Brandis, a dream come true: The first day is to it astronauts School of VEGA before. As one of the youngest cadets he must indeed earn the respect of his older classmates yet, but soon are all engaged into space with the first surprising test drive. But only a few time after the start of the spacecraft can be felt a violent shock ...

Mark Brandis was logically not always the glorious hero, who is known from the eponymous radio play series of Folgenreich, but has had to like each spaceman first acquire the necessary knowledge. How this happened and how it has become any integrity and assertive man, it reported a spinoff series, the Brandis as youth shows. Along with the successful first episode is also equal to the second part appeared and this is the first in every way. The action here is very straight forward, a leap in time as in the first episode is not recorded here. And it is told quickly, the emphasis is on the really important scenes that are explored very closely. The result is a very living expression of the radio play. Moreover, the story is really exciting. Although you can see the resolution of the whole already guessed, yet it is very captivating to listen to how the group of five new cadets deal with the extreme situation. Here everyone is very well presented and can show multiple facets, also the group dynamic is well integrated. At the end of the tension and the drama takes naturally once and is then completed elegant and very interesting. Again, some of the details from the original series are reinstalled, such as the political blocks are explained in the world. A strong result that could not only convince me, but also carried away.

Again, the choice of speakers is very good, many strong voices are united here. Sebastian Kluckert be heard as Alec Delaney, with his distinctive voice can also implement this character very well and creates intense moods. Really liked me Leyla Rohrbeck as Kim Pearby who designed her role very authentic and expressive. Friedel Morgenstern can be heard as Annika Melnikova, also it provides with its strong presence to additional scenes expression. Other speakers include Wanja Gerick, Oliver Seidler and Peter Groeger.

As with the adult series by Mark Brandis is also set here at a very tried and tested mix of numerous melodies and striking sounds. Each scene gets awarded their own mood, which sounds futuristic and seems to take the listener directly into space. In particular, the oppressive atmosphere with the small group led by Mark Brandis is excellently staged.

Modern yet simply the series logo is printed on the cover, the discreet silver fits very well with the series. The cover picture shown here has with its cool blue colors an appropriate effect on the viewer. From the back you can see two of the cadets in a high-tech gear, the move to a glare. Inside a small text on the setting of the series can be seen.

Conclusion: Marks first day in the school of astronauts VEGA are told here in a very exciting story. The core is a situation are provided in five of the new cadets to be, not only the drama has proved extremely popular, but also the group dynamics illustrated the different characters. Very well told and a winner for this still very new series.
