Advantages / disadvantages summarized:
+ Current technology and liquid software (to update) at a reasonable price
+ The Display Size
+ Extras like USB 3G stick and an integrated stand
- Wave in the display (to be resolved)
- Plastic case seems quite prone to scratches
- Between display and case small gap (could be the irritating dust collector)
Finally, a few important issues and why you may still should wait with the purchase:
- Gets the Archos 80 G9 an update to Android Ice Cream Sandwich?
- If the display error be corrected with the next equipment? (When reading it would be no problem with the film look very)
- Should we wait for the 1.2 and 1.5 GHz Turbo versions? Weigh here would charge vs. Performance increase
All in all I am satisfied with what Archos with its new tablet generation serving here. The price is right, finally you get even a 8 inch display and low-priced 3G. Compromises you have to accept in the processing and design for it.
For those who might want to wait and see the future development in the Tablets the Archos 80 G9 is a good transition device. It does not cost too much and is on the cutting edge.
