Inimitable Groove

Saturday Morning (CD)

Customer Review

Ahmad is a small, frail man of 83 years to the slower approach. Yet make no mistake, when he is sitting at the keyboard, the virtuoso excels his talent jumps you ears. He plays undisputed master of jazz piano. It was a miracle to hear mesmerizing game, appreciate the speed of the notes. The piano playing galvanizes. I hesitate between awe and bliss, but it is the intense joy that invades me during this listening. Groove takes me and through me, impossible to resist: I won.

Cohesion, a perfect symbiosis of the four musicians, this CD is a gem. The bass is superb, powerful and rich harmonies; I feel the vibrations of the scene throughout the body. The battery is unequivocally what is does best, that is sharp and clear. The little solo is probably the best ever heard. As for Manolo Badrena it causes emotion, using multiple accessories and his voice to make small sounds, adding his stamp percussion. With his long white beard to the square, Badrena asserts his art of rhythm without failing. And always this inimitable groove that mensorcelle as and as the notes are dotted. Ahmad Jamal pleases me, his music is unclassifiable and eternal.

I bought the CD at the recital previews and exclusive Marciac early August 2013, rewarded with a dedication. If only the nice festival organizers were willing to cook us a nice Bluray!

Finally, I emphasize respect for the sound consistent listening at the recital. Here, by trituration of the soundtrack, just a great job for a great sound reproduction. Congratulations.
