Love at first sight! 2 1

After having enjoyed the loved first and then the second volume ... I look forward to reading the latest installment of the first trilogy. I have not been disappointed. This novel turned me completely, is more than a stroke of heart ... it's love at first sight! I read in the day, I could not put it down, it obsessed me. The City of Glass is one of the best books I've read in my life ...

The story picks up shortly after the City of ashes. Valentin has more power since it has both the cup and the sword and covets this time a mysterious mirror that no one ever knew what he looked like. His ambition has no limits, it is desperate to get his way: take control of Shadow Hunters and purify his people the elements it considers undesirable.
I had the heart beating a hundred miles an hour and I feel I have held my breath from beginning to end. I was fully immersed in the story. The glass city has an incredible pace, the author does not leave us a moment's respite. Are linked and shares moments of emotions, fears, revelations and turnaround situations, without any downtime.

The relationships between the characters are more than ever at the heart of the story. Simon and Clary decided to end their semblance of history but they remain best friends and I must say I was reassured. Clary is always attracted by Jace and vice versa. Their relationship may seem unhealthy because they are brother and sister, but it's not my feeling. I found it devastating, like the hero, we vibrate every time they met. Our consience told that it's wrong, but we can not imagine them separated. Cassandra Clare offers us many stunning scenes that almost caused me a heart attack!
Simon is becoming more important and is a mystery to all. Indeed, it can now go out in the sun, which is unheard of for a vampire. Simon will become a real issue in the war that is preparing and I enjoyed it more useless human group. It now has its place in history alongside the Shadowhunters.
All other protagonists are dug and some even managed to surprise me. I like growing Alec will start to question or Luke, who is a werewolf full of courage and a true father to Clary.

The Mortal Instruments depicts a complete fantasy world as I say in my review of Volume 2. However, the author does not hesitate to shake up the lives of the characters, especially that of Jace, who then asks: " who am I? ".
The family is a key element of the plot. Jace asks many questions about it, he wondered what dominates in him the blood or education? Is he the son of Valentin or that of Lightwood? It is still lost since he learned the truth about her. Unlike Clary who has always lived with his mother, Jace does not know where his place between his father Valentin, his adoptive parents and the mother of Clary that he can not consider as his.
Clary begins meanwhile, to accept his nature and powers. Although her mother raised her as is, Clary is not a Ground. Our heroine has greatly matured since the beginning and I got easily identified.

This volume is one of the revelations. Cassandra Clare managed to surprise me, not only in terms of new information but also in the construction of its plot. I remain vague for you not spoiler, but each revelation is timely and consistent with the rest of the story.
In addition, the brand glass quoted the end of a stage of an undergraduate. The end of the novel gives us many answers and closes the plot initiated in the first volume while leaving the door open for the second trilogy whose first album (Volume 4: The City of Fallen Angels) is already published.

Finally, I have found no fault in this novel is a marvel. I recommend this series with all my heart, even if the first medium please, you MUST continue. The author gives us a fantastic perfect mixture of adventure, romance and friendship. The Mortal Instruments is a unique and unforgettable saga that should not be missed!
