Atmospheric snapshots in low game

My better half and I are great friends of noir settings and so this game was quickly chosen as a gift. The beginning was promising ... atmospheric music (which came with the game on CD), impressions of a rainy city somewhere in the late 1920s in America, a detective who retrospect unrolls a case ...

Unfortunately, it turned out soon that this game was able to keep the mood just about the music and some pictures. The user interface and the resulting control I would like to describe as uncomfortable and not very intuitive. Smaller physics puzzles were often greater challenges. However, not for the head, but for the fingers, because the clunky controls let mutate into Gedultsproben even tasks such as opening a cabinet or fuse box. Not directly targeted combinations produced only Drögen "I can not do" and "how it works not" statements of the protagonist. Since I am at the latest are Dadalics entitled "The Whispered World" or "Deponia" better accustomed to these games comment namely almost every action quite entertaining, so it is rarely boring, even if it takes a little longer to the envisaged solution to come ,
The speech overall was at an acceptable level, if the dialogues did not convince all. Lost us the game then but with the presentation of a cliche Chinese as a taxi driver. The whole thing was trimmed to humor, but tasted more like ollen chestnuts and a touch of involuntary racism. Something would have in a game with much overstated satire might not work, but noir setting that was completely out of place.
