Heroes (Audio CD)

Customer Review

"Heroes" is one of the most mature artistically Bowie albums, even if it was denied the great commercial success. Bowie takes up the thread of the previous album "Low" and developed it further determined. Again, he offers a mix of unusual vocal pieces and electronically imprinted, sometimes rugged instrumentals, where, the influence Brian Eno clearly seen. While "low" but dominated by a depressive mood, shows up on "Heroes" a more powerful Bowie. The musical ideas are not only sketchily touched upon, but complete. One of the best examples is the theme song to the inspired him the sight of a pair of lovers in front of the Berlin Wall. Schroffen rockers like "Beauty and the Beast" and "Joe the Lion" made decadent theatrical tones as in "Sons Of The Silent Age" opposite. The instrumentals have it in them. "V-2 Schneider" is still a guitar and drums-power-heavy piece. "Sense of Doubt" and "Moss Garden" go into a more meditative direction while at "Neukölln" especially the lonely Saxophongequäke at the end a total mood being lost can occur. "Heroes" reveals itself not easy for the listener. However, anyone who gets involved in this musical adventure, which will be richly rewarded.
