For several years I have been photographing exclusively with an SLR (Pentax) and am the image quality also satisfied on the whole. The "smuggling" but is sometimes a hindrance (especially when traveling) as well as the necessity of the objective (of course mostly at the wrong time) switch. Once you could read about "Bridge superzoom" cameras more and more, I have intensively occupied myself with the issue and decided to buy a Nikon Coolpix P610, which I have to admit that other manufacturers have very good deals in the program. My expectations for the image quality were not excessively high, since a small sensor course known can not keep up basically with its "big brothers" .... the more I was surprised by the results. I have now made 500 test shots within 3 weeks and am simply amazed. In many areas, the Nikon Coolpix P610 can easily be compared with the Pentax K30 not fear. It's incredible for me, what is most out of the small sensor. Here of course the enhanced electronics plays a role, for example, the image stabilizer is excellent, so that absolutely clear pictures at relatively slow shutter speeds can be achieved, this will save the use of higher ISO values, so that the noise can be kept within narrow limits. 1/20 sec at 300 mm focal length (miniature analog) is without any problems, which is with my SLR simply impossible. The image quality is also at the long end is still very good, with little compromise on the resolution must be made here, however, I have expected significantly worse results. It's simply fun to use the huge zoom range. The electronic viewfinder is good (much better resolution than its predecessor P600), however one must not compare him with the optical viewfinder of a DSLR. Very convenient is the automatic switching of the display on the viewfinder when you approach with the eye. A smaller disadvantage I do not want to mention: The automatic focusing at very low light despite assist illuminator tough and sometimes even impossible over longer distances. Maybe I'm just too spoiled by the Pentax. Despite clear 5 stars from me. We have attached a photo of the moon (from the hand).
