Which decade since the title of rock and pop stars come from? The following is intended to illustrate this:
CD 1:
50s: Peggy Lee - Fever
60s: Aretha Franklin - Think
70s: Billy Joel - My Life, Bob Marley & The Wailers - One Love, Barry Manilow - Mandy, Elton John - Candle In The Wind
80s: Michael Jackson - Thriller, Peter Gabriel - Sledgehammer, Fleetwood Mac - Little Lies, Kate Bush - Babooshka, Prince - 1999, Whitney Houston - One Moment In Time, Eurythmics - There Must Be An Angel (Playing With My Heart) Falco - Jeanny, Sade - Smooth Operator
90s: Santana ft Everlast - Put Your Lights On, Gary Moore - Still Got The Blues (for You), Joe Cocker - Summer In The City, Celine Dion - All By Myself.
CD 2:
50s: Elvis Presley - Love Me Tender, Ray Charles - Hit The Road Jack, Doris Day - Whatever Will Be, Will Be (Que Sera, Sera), Buddy Holy - Peggy Sue, Dean Martin - That's Amore, Edith Piaf - Non , Je Ne Regrette Rien,
60s: Janis Joplin - Piece Of My Heart, Johnny Cash - Ring Of Fire, Roy Orbison - Oh, Pretty Woman, Leonard Cohen - Suzanne, Nancy Sinatra - These Boots Are Made For Walkin ', Paul Anka - Diana
70s: Rod Stewart - Maggie May, Simon & Garfunkel - Mrs. Robinson, Lou Reed - Walk On The Wild Side, Liza Minnelli - Dancing In The Moonlight, Shirley Bassey - Goldfinger, Marilyn Monroe - River Of No Return
80s: James Brown - Living In America, Udo Jürgens - I've never been to New York,
90s: Cher - The Shoop Shoop Song.
An exhaustive with only two CDs, no one can expect here. The given topic you will meet. But the following artists I have somehow missed: Rolling Stones, The Beatles, Eric Clapton, Louis Armstrong, Kinks, Queen, Eagles, Supertramp, Bee Gees, Manfred Mann, CCR, Led Zeppelin, T. Rex, Sweet, Beach Boys, ABBA , Slade, Status Quo, Smokie, Pink Floyd, Electric Light Orchestra, Stevie Wonder, Depeche Mode, Madonna, Tina Turner to name but a few.
Of the total of 40 titles, is here a rather appealing, nice compilation with many classics. One or the other song I did not expect here. From Santana or Cher, there are more well-known titles, Udo Jürgens does not fit here, which belongs to a German sampler on the same subject. When I look at managed the fact that we have omitted herein CD-fill material and to more recent bands.
The available playing time on CD 1 was at 78 min. very well exploited. On CD 2 was with 66:57 min. still a little room for more songs.
The CD sound quality is fine, it is dynamic and clear. The double-CD comes with a 4 page booklet. Artist, Title, Duration, lyricist, producer, record label and production year are given. The CDs are equipped with CD-Text.
My conclusion: A CD sampler with a lot of legendary music without CD-filler and with a few exceptions with a consistently successful musical selection, which I can recommend.
