After the many different and unsettling reviews I have to write something for the Acer S7 now time. I ordered the device before Christmas at Amazon and it was as always delivered quickly. The Acer S7 is an absolutely visually as well as technically, very attractive device. I recommend it with the SSD. Of course, such a powerful Intel i7 CPU is also warm and the heat must be removed from the device. Therefore, I recommend 2 settings: (and here the fans are then louder) and the second the Windows schema "power saving mode" for normal work or surf (of course you can also create your own energy profile) Windows power scheme "Balanced" for high performance , Now comes my tip on how to keep the fans for the "normal use" in check: they just go in advanced power settings, then under "Processor Power Management" and represents the "maximum performance state of the processor" on 70% a. Then the i7 processor overclocked to 1700 MHz maximum and the fans are quiet. The cooling concept of the S7 is really great, a fan draws cool air behind a, the second blows warm air across the back again from the housing. So without air vents to when the Ultrabook is on the thighs ... With Windows 8, the Acer S7 is absolutely great features and mega fast. Although I am more of a friend of the desktop and not the new Win8 home, but after a short is the Desktop and Windows 8 good to use. The battery life of the device is between 4 and 6 hours. And very important even in the end - the HD display with 1920x1080 pixel resolution is sharp and also the big difference to the Acer S3 and S5 series.
Conclusion: Class device - I would currently rely repeatedly on Acer S7!
PS .: A small disadvantage is yet to mention: the included Bluetooth mouse is useless! This bluetooth mouse interfere WLAN extremely and also leads to restrictions and connection drop-outs (yellow exclamation point in the wireless network icon in the taskbar). So if someone has a problem with wireless, it is possibly on Bluetooth! (Here I have also searched for a long time after the cause of the error - but that would be about the only little "problem" that I had with the Acer S7) ;-)
