One last dance (Paperback)

Customer Review

This novel makes us live two very different periods, one current in the London area, the other in Spain during the dark years of the civil war of 1936 and which will continue during the period of Franco's regime.

We find in this novel style of Victoria Hislop, when she knows we do live painful moments by bringing a lot of feelings.

Sonia, a young London arrives in Granada in 2001 attracted by his passion for dance. Mercedes will leave everything to join her gypsy guitarist in 1936.
We discover the fate of these two women at different periods that follow their instinct and defeat all the prohibitions, each with the same passions: music and dance.
Very dark and disturbing story that takes place at a tragic time of the Francoist regime.
The author makes us experience wonderful moments in the world of dance and music of the Andalusian soul, but also the passion with which it ripped people suffered for defending his FREEDOM.
A people that has experienced the betrayals within families where violence rub friendship and passion but also cruelty.
The end of this story gives us a little hope, where we see that despite the horror the Andalusian soul survived. The Spanish people have regained his freedom.
