I gave it a good rating, it's because it's nice to read and, more important than anything to me, you feel the love and respect of the author Jane Austen.
Two stories overlap them, that of Samantha and another in the past and reading pleasure is waiting for you every time. The theme chosen is also wise because we take you where any Janeite dream of going, the heart of a resounding discovery for our little austenien world. Who has not dreamed of a mysterious discovery, of a seventh Jane Austen novel or just learn more about it? The author has the merit to bring us into this fantasy and the first chapters play particularly well on the suspense and keep us in suspense. I also thank James Syria for having spared me some usually very frequent uprooting hair during my readings austeneries.
After, I can not help but also dissect everything that is wrong in claiming every book Jane Austen so ... For starters, the total implausibility of the story is of course the first black dot. The young American who arrived in England in three days and found a letter from Jane Austen manuscript which nobody knew about, all that leads to the beautiful mansion of a more handsome young man, rich and single !!! ! Well that's a lot anyway. Let ...
What bothered me the most is the process of writing itself in part a story that is supposed to be from the hand of Jane Austen and write (again oneself so) in the other party how this story is well written, the spitting image of Jane Austen, how wonderful !!! Congratulations modesty. Especially if I said it was nice to read, no mistake all the same, we are far from the pen of our dear Jane. While I understand that this is history, but the manuscript was supposedly an early work, such phrases as "not as good as what she wrote and revisited later but ..." in my opinion would have been much more appropriate. But as always, it is only my opinion.
