Update 10.2013:
After prolonged use me some weaknesses are but fallen on. The supplied lens has on my Nikon D5100 a back focus, which is after all turned out very clearly, especially in wide angle, this makes course in landscape photography by blurring noticeable. My guess was confirmed by a test setup with test chart. Unfortunately, the Nikon D 5100 has no internal AF fine tuning! Written Konktakt with the Sigma Customer Service brought me two options. 1. Returning the lens including camera or correction of AF using the Sigma USB dock, which is available as an accessory for 49 Euro. The USB dock with the free software allows recalibration of the lens on the computer. This path, however, is very time consuming and requires a certain experience. The advantage is obvious you learn the strengths and weaknesses of the objective know. Fun with the objective to make portraits and macro shots easy, more difficult it will be there for landscapes it shows slight weaknesses.
