The added value of the big screen is enormous in my usage profile (mostly reading documents). The 5cm longer diagonal are for me the decisive leap from "barely legible" to 10 "to now" easy to read ". The display quality goes one step further. Samsung donated yes for UA this device a fourth, white extra pixels to the three colorful, the brightness of the display without additional consumption to increase of electricity. In fact, the display color distortion at medium brightness setting so highly luminous, that I rather 1-2 stages dimme at room illumination because it is more tiring otherwise. thus has not yet noticed.
The size and resolution of the display make viewing photos in appropriate quality at an enjoyment: extremely fine detail resolution and beautiful, bright colors make the tablet an excellent image viewer - much better than a good 24 "screen at a desk!
The pin function know and I use already at the Galaxy Note phone. With its large display, the whole thing gets of course a new dimension, which applies only to explore it yet. In any case, it makes the size possible to use the device as a notepad for handwritten entries. Works fine. The handwriting recognition works in principle also very good, but slow to enter text in practice.
The camera produces decent quality. However, this is in a tablet - especially in this size - rather secondary. For simple scanning tasks, it is sufficient in any case.
The weight of the device has been criticized by many as disturbing. In fact, there is a significant difference whether you if I have to hold 500 grams or 750 grams when reading. The former is just single-handedly, the latter definitely not (longer term). A matching envelope with positioning or a stand are here drug of choice. I can not mention here but as a negative point but as a logical consequence of the size. Those who want the size, must learn to live with it simply.
The computing power and the resulting liquid of operation I feel excellent. In any situation it give yet significant stuttering. During fast scrolling within large websites it falters at times, but what I attribute to the reloading of the Web. Large PDF files are displayed perform very well, which was always quite connected with the predecessors with waiting times of several seconds.
What I find very negative, is the firm position of the three system buttons on the lower long side. For all devices, which I had so far, they rotate with the orientation of the tablet and remained always at the bottom left. This is usually very comfortable with the thumb had been reached. Not so with Samsung. What might be perfectly OK for a cell phone, the tablet is simply stupid.
The battery life settles in around a little above the average of my previous devices a, which is totally unacceptable to me. Larger display eats larger battery. Somewhat annoying is the real long battery charging time. So times full load between once is no longer.
By the way: the elsewhere vowed Hancom office is a joke. Although the (free) full version seems very powerful. However, the Excel clone semmelt reliably in any attempt to enter even the simplest calculation formula. Well, other mothers have pretty daughters ...
