The basics of the game remained the same compared to the first part, but much has been expanded and further developed. Here is the most important facts:
Positive
========
+ Part 2 has, unlike the first part, a correct story (although this is knitted rather simplistic) and a more extensive story mode.
+ All community levels of the first part can be played also in Part 2.
+ New, very funny abilities of blind figures such. As the grappling hook, or "power glove" with which you can pick up and throw blocks or even other game characters.
+ The editor of LBP2 has been expanded to an incredible number of new rules associated and opportunities that you not at all can enumerate here. So you can not "only" as in Part 1, build platforming levels itself, but virtually complete games such. As racing games, fighting games, Tetris-like games, etc., it can intelligently "Sackbots" (non-player -Characters) are incorporated into the levels and much more. The new possibilities are incredible, so the next Community-level promise an unlimited long-term game fun.
+ Of course, the story levels contain many small, new mini-games that show the technical possibilities of the new editor impressively. Already at the beginning it has been a kind in the world 2 Guitar Hero and a race on giant rats behind him. Later you ride sometimes on rabbits, dogs, etc. Very fun and varied.
(Not tested myself) + Support for Move
+ The player profiles of Part 1 will be imported automatically, leaving you enough at the beginning of all items that had been in Part 1 already.
Neutral
=======
+/- The graphic has been improved compared to the first part. Apparently a higher anti-aliasing is used, it just looks fine. Unfortunately, there is thus in some places more viscous, especially in levels that have been created in LBP1.
+/- The evaluation system of community-level was changed. So there are no Stars (1-5) more, but only the choice between laughing and sad smiley, so like Level / do not like. Whether this change is good or bad, I can not yet be assessed. That remains to be seen over time. Incidentally, the star ratings of LBP1 levels are thus away in part 2 or not visible. The levels begin in part 2, all with 0 positive / negative reviews.
Negative
=======
- The community levels from LittleBigPlanet 1 might work, but do not see 100% identical. Partial effect textures distorted or flicker shadow, fire and fog look different, partly agree the camera positions can not remember exactly, etc. So the level function, but sometimes no longer look as beautiful and sometimes even choppy. Because I would have hoped for a better compatibility with the first part.
Conclusion
=====
Actually, a must-have for all PS3 Beseitzer. Anyone who has found the first part well, love is the second part. Long-term fun is guaranteed. The new possibilities of the editor will take care of incredibly diverse community levels, thus the game has practically no end.
Not quite as good I think as the inclusion of the "old" LBP1 community levels has been implemented, for the above reasons. But probably these levels will anyway be comparatively uninteresting over time when there are more and more new LBP2 community levels with many new features.
